LOVED IT. The WHOLE MOVIE was like watching Bruce Willis jump off a bridge onto a flying plane, only without Bruce Willis.
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being 'Angels and Demons,' this is a 9, and only because it didn't take itself seriously. There you had priests flying out of helicopters. Here you have mysterious and mostly Asian people with superb Pirloesque hair flying. Just flying. With swords. At one point Rain is half-naked and throwing himself around with weapons etc. in a wooden room that is on fire - but all you can see around him and his super-hot opponent are GOLDEN SPARKS.OMG. It's not lollerskates - it's LOLLERBLADES. Lollerblades of glory.
Also I am completely in love with Rain's hipbones. Please advise. He's not great, but he has an amazing pair of hipbones. Very lickable. Would Andy Lau ever do a video-game ninja movie, do you think?
I would say you require high tolerance for gore if you want to watch more than half this film without your fingers covering your eyes, but really - it's not even ketchup gore, it's cranberry juice gore. It's not that Cronenberg sort of violence where you can't eat dinner afterwards. It's the sort that goes extremely well with popcorn.
If I wanted to listen to a good Rain song which one would I pick, guys? |
